Saudi Arabia: Obhur to Jeddah through Bayada and Abu Tair

Depart Obhur in the morning and head offshore toward Bayada Island. This is the first substantial passage of the itinerary and should be timed around wind, visibility and sea state, particularly as the yacht moves away from the protection of the Jeddah coastline.

Spend the afternoon swimming, snorkelling or using the yacht’s water toys around the shallow marine area, taking care around the surrounding coral. Bayada is an established boat-trip destination off Jeddah and is specifically promoted for swimming, snorkelling and other marine activities.

Continue through the offshore waters toward Abu Tair, keeping the day’s passage shorter after the longer trip from Obhur. The area is better suited to a marine-focused day, with the schedule centred on the water rather than a harbour town or extensive shore visit.

Subject to sea conditions and local permissions, spend the afternoon swimming or snorkelling before settling into an appropriate offshore position arranged by the captain. Abu Tair is a recognised Red Sea diving and boating destination southwest of Jeddah and is associated with coral areas and the wreck of the Stavronis.

Leave the offshore reefs and turn back toward the Jeddah coastline for the final passage. An earlier departure gives the crew flexibility to adjust the route according to sea conditions while still leaving time to approach the city at a comfortable pace.

Finish at Jeddah Yacht Club and Marina on the Corniche, where the yacht can complete the charter close to the city’s main waterfront. The marina is an established yachting facility and provides a logical finishing point after several days focused primarily on the offshore Red Sea.
