Greece: Athens to Mykonos through the Cyclades

Depart Athens and cruise southeast along the Attica coastline toward Cape Sounion. This manageable opening passage provides an easy introduction to the charter while gradually moving the yacht toward the Cyclades without requiring a long day underway.

Anchor beneath Cape Sounion, subject to wind and sea conditions, with the Temple of Poseidon overlooking the coast above. Guests can swim from the yacht, head ashore to visit the archaeological site or remain aboard for dinner as the sun sets over the Aegean.

Leave Cape Sounion and cross into the western Cyclades toward Kythnos. The passage involves more open water than the previous day but remains a practical distance for a charter yacht, allowing the vessel to arrive with much of the afternoon still available.

Depending on weather and berth availability, the yacht can anchor near Kolona or use one of the island’s small harbour settlements. The rest of the day can be spent swimming, exploring ashore or enjoying a quieter evening aboard away from the busier Cycladic islands.

Cruise south from Kythnos to Serifos, with Livadi serving as the main arrival point on the island. The relatively short passage leaves flexibility for a morning swim stop or a slower departure before continuing into the harbour.

In the afternoon, head uphill to Serifos Chora, where whitewashed houses and narrow lanes climb above Livadi. Guests can explore the village, stop at one of the small restaurants or return to the waterfront for dinner while the yacht remains securely berthed or anchored nearby.

Continue south to Sifnos on one of the shortest passages of the itinerary. The lighter cruising schedule gives guests more time to enjoy the island itself rather than spending much of the day underway.

Arrive around Kamares and head inland toward villages such as Apollonia or Artemonas, known for their traditional Cycladic streets, local restaurants and pottery workshops. The yacht can remain near Kamares overnight, providing a comfortable base before the longer passage toward Paros the following day.

Depart Sifnos for Paros, travelling northeast across the central Cyclades. This is one of the longer passages of the week, so an earlier departure allows enough time to arrive without making the day feel rushed.

Depending on conditions, the yacht can approach Naousa or another suitable harbour or anchorage on Paros. Spend the afternoon walking around the waterfront, exploring the old lanes or relaxing aboard before dinner. The stop also places the yacht in a practical position for the final route toward Delos and Mykonos.

Leave Paros in the morning and cruise north toward Delos. Subject to operating hours, sea state and tender access, guests can go ashore to explore one of Greece’s most important archaeological sites before continuing toward nearby Mykonos.
