Nice

Riviera Arrival

Starting Point

Board the yacht in Nice and spend the afternoon settling into the vessel, meeting the crew and completing any final provisioning before departure. The city provides a practical starting point for a westbound French Riviera itinerary, with the coastline’s major ports and anchorages positioned within manageable cruising distances.

Remain in port for the first evening and explore the waterfront or nearby Old Nice before returning aboard. Keeping the first day alongside allows the captain to review local conditions and prepare for the following morning’s departure without placing unnecessary cruising time on the arrival day.

Villefranche-sur-Mer

Sheltered Bay

Leave Nice for a short cruise east around Cap de Nice toward Villefranche-sur-Mer. The brief first passage allows plenty of time to enjoy the bay and gives guests a relaxed introduction to the yacht before the itinerary begins moving west along the Riviera.

Spend the afternoon anchored in the bay, conditions permitting, or head ashore to explore Villefranche’s waterfront and old streets. With the yacht travelling only a few miles, the day can focus on swimming, lunch aboard and time ashore rather than a long transfer.

Cannes

Cannes Waterfront

Cruise west from Villefranche-sur-Mer, following the coast past Nice and toward Cannes. The moderate passage is long enough to make this a proper cruising day while remaining comfortable within a five-day itinerary.

After arriving in Cannes, spend the afternoon around the old port, waterfront and Le Suquet district or remain aboard before heading ashore for dinner. Cannes forms part of the established chain of Riviera destinations running west toward Saint-Tropez.

Îles de Lérins

Island Anchorage

Depart Cannes for the very short passage to the Îles de Lérins, just offshore from the city. The limited cruising distance deliberately creates a slower day between the busier Riviera ports and leaves most of the schedule open for time at anchor.

Choose an anchorage around Sainte-Marguerite or Saint-Honorat according to weather and traffic, then spend the afternoon swimming, using the yacht’s water toys or going ashore. The islands also position the yacht conveniently for the longer final run west to Saint-Tropez.

Saint-Tropez

Riviera Finale

Leave the Îles de Lérins and cruise west toward the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. This is the longest passage of the itinerary, but it remains a practical final-day run and avoids adding an unnecessary intermediate stop simply to reduce mileage.

Arrive in Saint-Tropez for disembarkation or an extended stay ashore. The harbour and surrounding old town provide a natural finishing point for a route that moves steadily west from Nice without backtracking. Saint-Tropez is one of the principal destinations along the Côte d’Azur coastal route.
