Norway: Stavanger to Bergen through Lysefjord, Røvær and Hardangerfjord

Cruise east into Lysefjord, where steep mountain walls rise directly from the water and create one of western Norway’s most recognisable cruising landscapes. From the yacht, guests can view Preikestolen high above the fjord, with the route extending farther inland depending on time and conditions.

Spend the afternoon kayaking, exploring by tender or going ashore where suitable landing points are available. The yacht can remain at a captain-approved anchorage or harbour within the fjord, providing a sheltered setting before returning towards the coast.

Exit Lysefjord and continue north through the coastal islands towards Røvær, a small fishing community west of Haugesund. The passage introduces a different side of western Norway, moving from enclosed fjord scenery into a network of islands, narrow channels and traditional coastal settlements.

Spend the afternoon exploring the village, walking ashore or arranging a local fishing experience where available. The captain will select the final harbour or anchorage according to yacht dimensions, wind direction and local berth availability.

Cruise east towards Rosendal, positioned near the entrance to Hardangerfjord and surrounded by mountains, waterfalls and traditional waterside communities. The approach provides a gradual transition from the exposed island coast back into the more sheltered fjord environment.

Spend the afternoon ashore exploring Rosendal, visiting Baroniet Rosendal or taking a shore excursion towards the landscapes surrounding Folgefonna. The yacht can remain in the harbour or at a suitable nearby anchorage depending on vessel size and local conditions.

Begin the final passage north towards Bergen, travelling through the island waterways and coastal channels of Fjord Norway. Depending on weather and guest departure arrangements, the yacht may pause near a small island community for a final lunch or short shore visit before entering Bergen.

Arrive in Bergen for disembarkation near the historic waterfront, with time ashore possible around Bryggen and the surrounding harbour district. The final passage completes a five-day route combining dramatic fjords, coastal islands, traditional communities and historic western Norwegian ports.
