Why Charter Bahamas
- Shallow Cruising Grounds
- Abundant Anchorages
- Easy Island Access
- Established Charter Routes
- Rich Marine Life
- Relaxed Island Culture
The Bahamas combines shallow banks, reef passages, island harbours and extensive chains of low-lying cays.
The Bahamas is an established Caribbean cruising destination, with clear bank waters, extensive island chains, protected marine areas and regional yacht facilities centred around Nassau and selected out-island marinas. The Exumas support itineraries through closely spaced cays, beaches and the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. Eleuthera and Harbour Island combine open-coast passages with reef entrances and compact harbours, while the Abacos provide island routes supported by marinas and settlement-based shore facilities.
Charter Region
The Bahamas includes shallow-bank anchorages, deep-water island harbours, reef-protected bays and exposed ocean passages. Nassau is known for its colonial-era buildings, working harbour and position as the principal transport and service centre of the Bahamas. Shore access is available through Nassau Harbour, Paradise Island and the surrounding marina facilities. Guests can visit the historic streets around Parliament Square, continue to Fort Fincastle and the Queen’s Staircase, or explore the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas. The Straw Market and the commercial areas around Bay Street provide access to local crafts, retail and waterfront activity. Paradise Island is connected to Nassau by road and harbour services. Its marina facilities can support embarkation, guest transfers and provisioning, subject to berth dimensions and availability. Nassau is also a practical starting point for passages towards the Exumas, Eleuthera and the Berry Islands. Berths, guided visits and vehicle transfers should be confirmed in advance during Christmas, New Year and other busy charter periods.
The Bahamas offers a laid-back charter escape shaped by scattered islands, shallow cruising grounds, and endless opportunities to explore by sea.
From the Exumas to Nassau and the Abacos, the Bahamas combines easy island passages, quiet anchorages, vibrant marine life, and relaxed coastal stops across one of the Caribbean’s most accessible cruising regions.
