  • MARKETING / SALES / ADVERTISING INTERN
  • We are looking for a qualified intern to join our marketing and communications team. Australian Superyachts is a small business enterprise that operates locally, nationally and internationally. Working for us will provide you with invaluable experience and will no-doubt provide you with a large array of skills which you will be able to transfer to your next job.

    You should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of marketing. You will be responsible for assisting the organization in the development and implementation of its marketing, business development, and public relations plan.

    We aim to provide you with training to develop your skills and help you gather a greater insight into the Superyacht industry. We will provide you with responsibility and are ideally looking for a candidate that will show initiative and get tasks done.

    You will report to our Head of Marketing and our Managing Director.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the creation of signage, circulars, mock ups, e-mail campaigns, on line promotion, etc.
    • Assist in the distribution or delivery of marketing materials.
    • Assist with execution of events and boat shows.
    • Perform analysis of marketing and sales data.
    • Conduct research.
    • Seek and analyse competitor marketing and sales materials both on and offline.
    • Open and sort mail.
    • Make appointments and meetings.
    • Enter contact information into contact management systems.
    • Provide support and often lead social media efforts.
    • Maintain tracking report of public relations activity.
    • Create advertisements through using Photoshop, InDesign, Word, Excel, Paint and
    • other Windows and Adobe programmes.
    • Maintain and update our Australian Superyachts website (using WordPress).

    Requirements
    Company is looking for an undergraduate student living in Sydney who is seeking an marketing internship from anywhere from 10 weeks to 6 months. This person should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with knowledge of WebPress, Social Media, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.  Having InDesign and Photoshop experience is a bonus!

  • DECKHAND – SYDNEY
  • We are seeking a casual deckhand to look after the yachts we manage. We promise work on different yachts so you will never get bored!

      • Are you available weekends?
      • Are you an experienced and capable Deckhand?
      • Do you live in Sydney and have access to a car?

    This is a fantastic opportunity to gain some maritime experience. It will benefit you dramatically with career development (we have all been through the Superyacht industry), while also offering you a great location to work and happy team environment.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Handling lines and fenders
    • Assist in general maintenance and cleaning
    • “Hands on” Sole Deckhand
    • Good management of your time – you will need to be highly organised and decisive
    • Professional demeanour – excellent presentation.
    • Formal Deckhand and/or training would be favourably regarded.

  • STEWARD / STEWARDESS – SYDNEY
      • Are you available weekends in Oct, Nov and Dec ?
      • Are you an experienced and capable Steward/ess?
      • Do you live in Sydney and are looking for part-time temp work for the Summer?

    If you are the type of person who always has a smile on your face and can manage single-handedly then we want to hear from you. You’ll be working with a great Captain, Chef and deckhand and a very nice family cruising the local waters of Sydney most weekends in the coming summer.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

      • “Hands on” Sole Steward/ess
      • Strong Service and Housekeeping skills
      • Good management of your time – you will need to be highly organised and decisive
      • Professional demeanour – excellent presentation.
      • Formal Steward/ess and/or service training would be favourably regarded. Any other ‘value added’ skills that you bring will tip the scales in your favour!

  • Marketing Executive
  • Australian Superyachts is looking to expand its team with the appointment of a Marketing Executive at its Head Office in Pyrmont, Sydney.

    Your role as a marketing executive is to seek to promote our luxury products and services to the Superyacht industry and therefore maximise the company’s success through developing sales strategies that match our customer requirements.

    We are looking for a talented Marketing Executive to undertake marketing projects for the benefit of our company. You will organise creative campaigns and promotional events that can make a difference for our company’s success according to trends and customer requirements.

    The ideal candidate will be passionate for the “art” of marketing and will have an abundance of ideas for building efficient strategies. You must bring forth a strong cache of techniques and methods to promote our products, services and public image.

    The goal is to reach out to the market and cultivate the customer’s interest in our products and services in ways that strengthen our reputation and facilitate our continuous growth.

    You will work closely with Management and Department Heads such as chartering, crew recruitment and sales.

    Working alongside your colleagues, you will be responsible for:

    • promotional activities: write copy for diverse marketing distributions (brochures, press releases, website material etc.)
    • maintain relationships with media vendors and publishers to ensure collaboration in promotional activities
    • monitor progress of campaigns using various metrics and submit reports of performance
    • demonstrated proficiency managing campaigns on social media including: Google AdWords, Facebook, WordPress
    • newsletters and direct email campaigns Hubspot marketing, Mail Chimp etc
    • devising and presenting ideas and conceiving efficient and intuitive strategies
    • analysing to evaluate trends, brand awareness, investigating price, demand and competition ventures
    • compiling financial and statistical information for management
    • organising events, product exhibitions, boat shows.

    Qualifications and training required:

    • Proven experience as a successful Marketing Executive or similar role
    • Good understanding of market research techniques, data analysis and statistics methods
    • Thorough knowledge of strategic planning principles and marketing best practices
    • Proficient in MS Office, WordPress, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop
    • Customer Relationship Marketing Software Hubspot
    • BSc/BA in marketing, business administration or relevant discipline

    • Good teamwork and communication skills:  the ability to listen and understand the requirements from each department head as well as the ability to educate and convince them of the best strategy to achieve their goals.

    • Familiarity with social media and web analytics

    Salary and conditions:

    • Salary negotiable pending your specific experience and education.
    • Normal Australian working conditions apply.  So you will need either an Australian or NZ passport, Australian permanent residency or long-term work permit for Australia.  Working holiday visas do not give sufficient time for this permanent role.
